August – Back to School Events
Did you know that over 90% of teachers spend their own money on school supplies and other items their students need to succeed? Consider engaging in your community to help them go “Back to School” with these event ideas:
School Supply Drive or Community “’Stuff the Bus” events: Consider sponsoring, participating, and/or hosting a school supply drive in your local school district. Consider giving away back to school supplies, such as branded Drawstring with QR Code, Pencil Pouch and Pencils.
Back to School Haircuts: Consider collaborating with a local salon/barbershop to sponsor a back-to-school haircut event for kids in your community. Consider activity books Beaded Friendship Bracelet set as a fun giveaway for the kids. During this special event, consider talking to parents about any insurance or financial needs. Note: While the haircut is not eligible for Event Branding Fund, fun giveaways are!
It’s Cool to Go Back to School: Consider collaborating with a snow cone or ice cream shop/truck to host a back-to-school event. Consider back to school supplies, such as branded Drawstring with QR Code, Pencil Pouch and Pencils as giveaways. Or consider some small items in a Branded "Party" Favor Bag. During this special event, consider talking to parents about any insurance or financial needs in exchange for a cold treat for the children. Note: While the cold treat is not eligible for Event Branding Fund, branded giveaways are!
College Dorm Move-in Events: Consider pitching up your branded tent at the local university on move-in day. Use the branded prize wheel to engage student with fun items like personalized beach balls, branded koozies, picture frame magnet, magnetic power clips. While students or parents are spinning the wheel, discuss renter’s insurance and other needs.
Football Tailgate: Use the Community Sports Marketing Guidebook and consider ordering co-branded items with the local school/team. Consider hosting a tent near the ticket gate handing out water or other giveaways to parents and students coming to the game. Consider passing out branded mini footballs, foam hands or even fresh popcorn in personalized popcorn bags. For fun, check with the school to see if you and/or the cheerleaders can toss footballs or branded t-shirts to fans.
Teacher Appreciation: Consider collaborating with your local school to host a teacher appreciation event. Consider a fund grab bag of branded items nestled in a Branded "Party" Favor Bag or “pop” in with fresh popcorn in personalized popcorn bags while connecting with teachers in the teacher’s lounge.

I was born and raised on Washington Street in Valders, and this community will always be home. I graduated from Valders High School in 1992, spent a short time living in Arizona, and then returned to Valders to start my family and put down roots. I currently live just south of Valders near Pigeon Lake and value being surrounded by family, friends, and familiar faces.
I’m the proud mom of two daughters who continue to amaze me. My oldest, Ariana (30), lives in Georgia with her husband, Josh, and is pursuing her dream of becoming a full‐time actress. My youngest, Sydney (25), lives in Tennessee with her husband, Zack, and works as a high school teacher. Family is at the center of everything I do, and that perspective shapes how I support customers every day.
Becoming a State Farm agent truly felt like finding my calling. I love connecting with people and learning what matters most to them so I can help provide education and guidance when life doesn’t go as expected.
